The agreement calls for Honeywell to provide the main process automation, safety and operator training systems for the plant and integrate its technology with existing third-party systems. By using Honeywell as the single process control and automation provider, SKE&C will minimize the engineering effort needed to integrate the plant subsystems. Using a single set of maintenance tools and databases, Honeywell’s integrated approach will also help the end user more effectively diagnose system problems, potentially avoiding unplanned downtime and lost production. Additionally, Honeywell will provide local technical support at the site. “As demand grows, customers are increasingly looking to integrated systems to streamline production while maintaining worker safety,” said SangWoo Lee for SKE&C. “Honeywell was the best choice for this project because we have seen first-hand how it seamlessly integrates third-party technology to form a cohesive solution.
